how difficult was it to become a PGA professional? ive just recently become interested and was wondering how difficult the process is...thanks

[/ QUOTE ]

1) Goto area golf course/country club
2) Take any job you can to get in (bagboy, waiter, etc)
3) Work lots of hours for little money
4) As spots open up in pro shop, try and take job as assistant pro (if you have degree)
5) Then work more hours for less $$
6) If you're good enough and work long enough, you might have a chance at being a teaching pro
6.5)Get certified as PGA pro (no idea how)
7) Where you can work even more hours

Seriously, I have much respect for golf pros. I worked at a country club for 4 years in school and then a golf course for a year. I saw what those guys had to do.

This is the hard way. Much easier ways exist.

Ok so I hit the ball decent, putted great and played 17 holes even par.

but on the 13 hole, par 5 I hit my tee shot down the left of the fairway, or what I thought was down the left of the fairway. Never found it and I made an 8. My whole group thought it was in the fairway, but after 10 min of looking, nothing.

So I make an 8, lip out or almost make birdie on my last 3 and shoot 75. I think I missed the money by 2 shots.

Can't wait for the next tournament, it was fun getting back into it after so many years of not playing for anything more than pocket change.

Next tournament is at the TPC of Scottsdale, where the Phoenix open, (or those of you from out of state call it the FBR open) is held.

Thanks for the support.

75 is a good score for your first competitive round in years. Something to build on for the future.

Yes, I was happy with it, and because it was all on one hole. I hit a few bad wedge shots where I could have made a few more birdies so I have something to work on.
