I see this kind of action all the time and it usually means that they are afraid of the flush or hit the flush. If he hit the flush, I would imagine that he would bet since you have shown no hesitation to bet post-flop. Don't see anything positive about checking this other than seeing his cards, and that is a very small positive.

i think go ahead n value bet that river. the turn bet from BB looks like a donk bet and i don't think you should be worried about that diamond

Personally, if it were me playing I would check it, but since I've been wrong on every post so far this morning... bet it. The bet on the turn is strange if he's on a flush draw, so maybe that's not what he has. I would bet for value here.
