if this is a "competent" reg how does he not get the pot bigger by the river if your beat? I can never fold this getting 2-1 or better maybe this is a leak?

over 25 hands, you cant tell anything about him. i would have bet into him on the turn, which would've simplified my move on the following round.

If he is a competent reg, there are few hands he would call an UTG raise with from the bb that have an 8. To villain this looks exactly like you have whiffed overs. You induced a bluff, now call.
