absolutely.. thats what i was thinking.
the texture of the flop LOOKS good for my hand, but in actuality its not that good. the turn makes my hand more valuable and allows me to maximize my position on the other hands.

You played it perfect. You wanted the callers and a flop raise would have limited the number of opponents and kept you against the strongest hand of the table. A call here was seriously a genius move, but you might have raised AJ out and won the pot this time.
The turn call of AJ was against the odds he had 4 outs, not enough to call. The ace was no out for him. Btw, what does for broadway mean?

SB's play is consistent with a badly played 2 pair going for a c/r on the turn that got confused when it was already 2 back to him. Probability of him having one of those hands & making that specific mistake more than validates a raise against a very likely AJ to me.
