are you a med student? because i'm questioning that herp-1 turns into herp-2. If you mean that oral herpes can be transferred to the genitals, then yeah. But a virus doesn't change 50% of its DNA (hsv-1 has 50% of the same dna as hsv-2) just by magic.

the stats are googled at from http://www.herpes.com/hsv1-2.html. If the test showed that she had hsv-1 antibodies, and not an active infection, then she would be in the majority of the population. Doesn't seem like there is much to worry about

Everyone has herp 1. It recurrs ~1 time per year in the average person. It causes cold sores. Nobody should give a [censored] about it. It's just barely worse than having had chicken pox as a kid (another type of herp which stays with you forever and can recur as shingles later in life). It does not turn into hsv 2.

OP - if you need an excuse to break up with the girl, use it. This should have no more bearing on your decision than learning that your girl occasionally poops.
