The reason fish go to those tables is because the Monster Jackpot Games tab is open by default, and it pushes out the Cash Games tab, so most players only see the Monster tables.

I bet that'll end up on some guy's resume. "Increased profits by 16%". The guys who came up with this are geniuses, but I hate them.

Even fish don't like a bigger rake, remind them that the rake is higher on monster tables.

(just an idea)

I think a professional poker player's union is a great idea, but unfortunately PPA isn't it. PPA seems to be nothing but Party Poker's political orginization. Yes I'm a member, but only cuz of that Party bonus thing.

like the promotion or not, it does not represent an increase in profits at all, much less 16%

There's nothing anyone can do about this, except not play there. Party can run their business any way they like.

I think this is the beginning of the end of people making a living at internet poker. Obviously cash game players have been given the big shaft. I've been playing for 3 1/2 years and I think I've seen 4 of a kind beaten once.

On the other hand, a lot of pro's might go elsewhere, thus negating the effect of the higher rake.

But this seriously sucks the big one.

fwiw, they say all the extra money goes into the jackpot and the freerolls. Not a whole lot of difference though.
