Re: gonna give microstakes lhe a shot..
i've posed the question before, and the majority of the forum junkies agreed that strictly assuming you took two "expert" players of equivelant value, one in limit, and the other in no limit, the game of limit hold em is a game of higher swings
in limit hold 'em your often in a position of having to call as an underdog because pot odds justify it. also, more frequently hands are being called down to the river. while in no limit you can use your imagination a wide variety of techniques, in limit your restricted to 3 options. by sheer probability your opponents will always make the right decision 1/3 of the time that being said, limit hold em is the more objective game. in no limit your constantly faced with a variety of choices, and the course of action is always debatable, while that subjectivity is far less in limit what i'm trying to say is that if anyone is serious about making consistent money off poker, they have to start with the fundamentals of limit hold em |

that's mathematically impossible ! a downswing is more controllable in limit.... [/ QUOTE ] 100 BB downswing is frequent in LHE, 300BB are not unheard of. That's full ring. At 6-max they are much more brutal. The simple reason why LHE is more swingy is that there are heck of a lot more loose calls and suckouts. "Yeah what the heck it's just one bet" vesus "Hmmm ... I probably don't want to commit half of my stack with middle pair/no kicker". |
