Well sometimes you have to back down and save some bets to gain extra bets later on. Let the draws and weaker hands push the action. If these players are really loose agressive then they could of limped with 78o as well. Checking the river is the right play. The pot is big enough. If the button were to bet you still call. As a fold would be a neg EV play. I like raising the turn to punish the draws, and slowing down if 3 bet. The flop play was fine. Sure you could of 3 bet to keep the lead and pressure. But it was capped anyways, which means no fold em holdem was in effect. In fact you may not have got to a cap on the flop if you 3 bet and continued to show stength. So lets look at the hand you are affraid of. 87 77 88 55 on the flop then A7 comes on the turn. If someone called the heat with second pair. So its unlikely. So really you only had to fear 4 hands. Sure what about 69. Not that likely of a starting hand. If someone was in there with that then give em a kiss and keep them around.

agreed. in fact, bigger pots usually result in a wider range of payoff. we can actually valuebet more liberally.
