Seems like the easiest thing they could have done is replace the $25,000 chips with the green $25 chips, instead of having this debacle play out. Maybe too risky though, because I imagine there are a few $25 chips that ended up in peoples pockets from earlier events.

I couldn't tell the difference between the 5K and 25K chips on the WSOP live broadcasts. The dark lighting made it almost impossible I just knew it was always the shorter stacks on top for most players. When I saw the picture on pokernews of the stack with the 3 similar colors immediately I thought what brain dead person would approve or even think of something like this. Probably the same guy who thought those peak cards were great.

You just know someone if going to get knocked out by opening 25x the blind by accident and running into AA.
