Re: Need help value betting river, please
[ QUOTE ]
I probably make an obvious little vbet hand 1, C/C hand 2 and 3. scallop, Im sure what pepper123 meant that heros range include a bunch of missed draws which is why an 8 might look him up. [/ QUOTE ] help me understand why c/c is your preferred line? people generally call with a wider range than they bet. |

why check hand 2? to c/f? [/ QUOTE ] Against an unknown...yeah probably (unless it's something small). I think 7x/66 probably just checks it down and I'm not sure if they call another bet anyways. I've also seen randoms do this w/ like 99/TT and I just end up reverse value-towning myself. |

Re: Need help value betting river, please
i assume he checks to you on the river in hand 1? i would bet it.
i would c/c hand 2 and shove hand 3. hand 2 i reeeally can't see a 7 calling you in hand 2 unless you guys have played before or something. hand 3 is probably close but i shove because he can definitely pay you with QJ/QT, and very rarely would slowplay a monster on that board. if he has something like J9 i guess it's just a beat. |

Re: Need help value betting river, please
Hand 1: call if he bets big, raise if he bets small. If he checks to you bet like $88 or $90 or whatever. He will look you up with an 8 or a lower overpair, and he is very unlikely to have you beat here.
Hand 2: He usually has a hand like 76 or 66 or A7s. There is definitely value in betting here. Like mid-70s or so. Hand 3: Again, you generally have the best hand and he is generally calling with worse. Make it $78 or whatever. I'm not c/c any of these -- hand 1 because you can't, hand 2 because most of his possible hands have showdown value and so he will not bluff with them but may call value bets. Hand 3 is a bit closer but I think it's more likely he has a weaker Q than a spade draw that he'd bluff with. |

Re: Need help value betting river, please
1. bet half of what he has on the river. Puke to a push and call if you're on tilt, otherwise fold.
2. c/f river. c/r turn is also an option. 3. as played, bet river. c/r turn is sexy. |

We'll rep whiffed. -> holla [/ QUOTE ] We have a note that says he's a station, no stats so we don't know for sure but he's likely to be passive since most stations are, ie he prob checks behind most worse hands for pot control/cowardry and checks behind with lots of draws, we'll then puke when the river is a spade, ten, ace and get 0 value out of the draws when they miss, little value out of weaker queens that we'd get anyway by betting the turn and betting safe rivers. |
