[ QUOTE ]
Sleepnumber beds for my wife and me. We had terrible nights sleeping with an old bed. I was starting to get terrible chest cramps with the way I was sleeping. I would wake up almost crying I was in so much pain. We bought this bed and have had no issues since then. Terrific bed, and it's great cause they allow each person to make their side whatever they want. Things you think would be problems but aren't: 1) Problems with the two halves being uneven. I have a much lower number than my wife, and while I notice a little difference in it, it's not uncomfortable at all if I'm rolling from one side to the other. 2) Doin' the nasty. No issues at all, don't even notice the difference in the sides. Even if your two numbers are that different, just set them to the same number before hand. - C - [/ QUOTE ] psu- Good info, thanks -- I hadn't considered a Sleep Number bed yet. Which model do you have? I'll do some research and will likely go to a Sleep Number store, but which model do you currently own? I'm considering the 3000 model, but am unsure whether it might be a [censored] 'entry level' bed. The next step up (4000) is so much more expensive though. Also, I'm only 23, so no bed division with the Mrs. for me yet. |

We have one, been very pleased. It is sometimes cheaper than select comfort, and IMO it's a better bed. There's no gap in the center between the air chambers like select comfort had when we looked, the chambers are touching in the center. Also, the air chambers are at the top instead of at the bottom of the structure. Anyway, just another option to consider if you decide you LIKE these beds after checking it out at a sleep number store. We have the GS.900 comfortaire. |

I purchased a Kingsdown plush from Sleepy's about 2 weeks ago. I have back issues and so far the mattress is perfect for me. Of course, I am a 39 year old guy who has needs a softer bed. We went to the store 4 different times and spent 10-20 minutes on each mattress that we were considering. You aren't going to make the right the decision spending 2-3 minutes on 15 different mattresses. Just go knowing you will be there a while and slowly narrow down the range. Then come back in a couple of days and narrow it further. Finally, come back one final time before deciding. [/ QUOTE ] Just bought a Kingsdown as well, have definitely been pleased with it so far. The nice thing about it is that they have a test bed/computer system that can determine which bed would be best suited towards you. They have 6 different models I believe. |

I bought a Chattham & Wells Eurotop Cal King about 2 years ago for $1,800 and think it was one of the best purchases I ever made.
The only way to shop for mattresses is to go to big mattress stores and start laying down on them all til you find one you like. |

When Mrs DD and I first got married we bought a really nice "pillow top" fluffy mattress. Very comfortable... but within a couple of months, my back was killing me.
So we went to the Mattress Firm and I said I wanted the firmest mattress they had. Took maybe one night to get used to, now I sleep better than I ever have, and no back pain. |

I bought a mattress and frame for $20 from a yard sale next door. Then I bought a $150 memory foam pad from costco. I sleep like a baby.
