Default Re: Video Card / Multi-Monitor FAQ

" For WinXP, right-click on the Desktop and go to Properties. Click on the Settings tab and select the second monitor, then check the "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor." "

How do I select the second monitor on the settings tab? It's not there. But apparently my device is working properly. help?

(i just got a new video card and installed it to an open PCI slot, and connected a new monitor to it.)

thanks

So I have 1 VGA (blue) + 1 DVI (white) connector on my graphics card, but 2 monitors with VGA leads. Any solutions?

Edit: would this do the trick?

btw.. im considering 6 monitors very soon.. 4 just doesnt hack it. i use an nvidea quadro nvs 400(which supports 4 monitors) and an ati radeon 9800 pro(which supports 2). the reason im making this post, is because people should consider just springing for the quadro if they wish to use 4 monitors. its only like 350-400 now if you shop around. holla

Open up your case, touch something metal in your case / around you before proceeding.

Don't overlook this step!!! Or even better buy a cheap
wriststrap to case ground! If your like me and tend to
work on your computer on the carpeted floor it's very easy
to build up a static charge and do serious damage to your
system!

very nice post AncientPC!

Right-click on desktop. Go to Settings tab. Click on monitor 2. Now play with your display resolution slider.

Sorry to bump, but it's a useful thread anyways...is there any way to extend my toolbar at the bottom across both monitors? or can I only have it on either one?
