OOT guest stars as the kid who is bored by the performance, gets up to leave, then is finally inspired to learn to play.

I will never understand the funtwo video, the guy is playing someone else's arrangement, there are a million guitarists that can play stuff like that. john petrucci, joe satriani and steve vai were all playing much more impressive stuff at a younger age, and in addition to that coming out with great albums.

enough with the negativity, for my money the most virtuosic guitar duo is bireli lagrene and sylvain luc, this is insane..

another great, older trio is mclaughlin, dimeola and mclaughlin, there are a ton of great clips, here's mediterranean sunrise .

video game pianist martin leung (sp?)

Mario on Piano- Arranged by Martin Leung

oh yea...he's BLINDFOLDED for the first part.

Barron

EDIT: my favorite & possibly the most impressive part is at 9:18 into the piece. he is playing 3 voices with two hands, keeping tempo & tone perfectly. sick. guy obviously has perfect pitch...

history: quickly in case anybody cares, he was itnerviewed and said he was classically trained & does indeed have perfect pitch (name a note by hearing it) and loved video games. he combined his loves & simply listened to the video game theme. wrote it out in like 6 hours or something, and was playing it perfectly in a week or two.

DcifrThs,
When i started reading this thread I thought of him. He was my classmate in high school and at that time it just started among a couple of his friends who I know and basically we just sent it to everyone that has AIM and all message boards, like SA or Outie and stuff. The sad thing is I don't think he ever was in orchestra/symphony or performed during an assembly or anything. He goes to some sort of music school in Cleveland now. I should ask someone to ask him why he didn't choose Juliard.

could be oberlin conservatory in cleveland which is a really good music school. What part of the country is he from. Juliard is a great school, but its one of the schools that everyone and there mom has heard about and people figure that if your a great classical musician and you dont go there something wrong with you. But there are fantastic music schools all around the country.
