Default Re: NL noob trying to iron out basic betting stategy

good lord, all these abbreviations have me all over the net searching their meanings. I have found no sticky indicating their meanings.

The new ones from this thread are:
c-bet
lrr = limp re-raise??
BB = Big Blind ??
bb = big bet ??
I apologize for all the newbie questions, but I haven't found a thread that labels these.

Help?

Thanks

c-bet means contiuation bet
lrr means limp/re-raise
bb means big blind

No one ever really refers to big bets for any reason

When we have a hand such as QJ suited or 99, coupled with good position, are we putting in a small value raise after multiple limpers? Or is it better to just see the flop cheaply so as to not tempt a pre-flop limp re-raise?

I agree with 4_2_it on this - just wanted to add that the LRR is very very rare at SSNL in my experience.

In mine as well. Hell you don't even see a lot of 3-betting in position.

In the NL forums, you mean. Certainly in Limit, people talk about big bets/100 hands, big bets/hr, or just "big bet." I know we're in a NL/PL forum, but that may be useful for Gen. I think up to a point there will always be confusion with BB when you're discussing limit (not NL), so context can help, or you may have to ask.
