It's not a Hellmuth bias, it's a hold em bias in terms of numbers of tourneys. However, when it comes to bracelets, there's a countering effect. Specifically; the fields in the non-hold em events are a lot smaller. Anyone who is a specialist at hold em has more tournaments in which to win bracelets, but anyone who is a stud or mixed game specialist, has shorter fields to get through to win bracelets.

[/ QUOTE ] This is kind've innappropriate. People outside of this forum do know of poker. I would go as far as to say a few of them may even know *more*. Post count isn't a substitute for experience, time, maturity, or intelligence. |

I believe OP is right. The WSOP has increased the number of NLHE events with the clear motivation to help Hellmuth win more bracelets.

ummmm....yes it is [/ QUOTE ] Then why can't most posted with four or more digits form a complete sentence? I could spam around these forums for weeks and catch and surpass post counts; of course you could assume I'd be picking up general knowledge about the game by doing that, but that's not garunteed at all. If anything, the more time you *waste* posting, the less poker you're playing and much less experience gained. It's the content of one's posts that should be the indicator of one's merits, not the volume. That said, we'd all do better if every post in this thread wouldn't move us up to Pooh-Bah; nothing exists in this thread but allusions. |

I wrote there was an 'unintentional' bias towards Hellmuth's bracelet winning bids. There are more Hold'em events because Hold'em is massively popular. After writing all that, you might you be levelling. |

[/ QUOTE ] This is a balanced post. However, I believe the bias works towards Hellmuth's favour though I accept it is counteracted by the smaller fields in the non-Hold'em events. |
