I might have 5-7k to spend on a used car. I havent had a running car in several years. I thought there was a car forum on 2+2 and I woulda posted it htere, but I dont see it. So yah, I formatted my "please for ur advise" thread into a brag thread to loophole you all into helping me.

price range 5-7k

Some preferences:

awd or rwd

manual

some sort of heritage or luxury

Two cars I was looking at:

1999-2001 suburu impreza 2.5rs

1996-2000 audi a4 2.8 quattro

seems I can find these with around 100k miles on them, which isnt bad for a 7-11 year old car.

any input would be cool and stuff.

Audi A4 meets your criteria pretty well. They are super nice on the inside and feel like they were a lot more money than you payed. Downfall is the repair costs are higher on average than other cars.

You should check out an Acura TL, but they don't come in 5spd.

either one of these cars you are looking at would be awesome. When did audi start using the 1.8t? I would personally get the impreza, just because my friend has a 97 2.8 and it has problem after problem, small sample size though.

are you looking at a 1.8t or a 2.8? Strangely it seems that the 2.8 has depreciated much faster, as you can find both cars for the same price.

actually, my friends brother has an audi, I think its a a4 1.8t. He is having problem after problem as well, and after reading up on the car Ive seen that a lot of people have had problems, and have had even more problems with audi of america fixing recalls and stuff under warranty. So yah, Im leaning pretty heavily towards the 2.5rs. Ive wanted a 2.5rs for a while now anyways, they are cool cars with some nice heritage, and winters coming so that will be fun
