Re: Hilarious Vick article by Deion Sanders
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] F*ck it, I think this is a good article. Honestly, if I were going to make a list of 100 crimes that really needed to be eradicated, dogfighting wouldn't even be close to cracking the list. Vick deserves probation for this at worst. The idea that just because dogs are fuzzy, this is being treated like a freaking murder trial is ridiculous. This should be a state issue and Vick should play every game of the 2007 season. When Ray Lewis was accused of murder and Kobe was accused of rape, they were both treated better in the media and by their respective organizations than Vick's been treated the last couple months. [/ QUOTE ] You can't possibly be this stupid can you? [/ QUOTE ] I hope you are only talking about the first sentence of that post because the rest of it was pretty good. [/ QUOTE ] It isn't the dogfighting that even gets me...its the hanging of dogs and stuff that really gets to me. Shrug. |

they were accused, not indicted. Still, I don't think it's a bad point. But he's a terrible writer and he goes off on all these crazy tangents. It's hilarious. [/ QUOTE ] what do you think indictment means? automatic guilty verdict? |

Re: Hilarious Vick article by Deion Sanders
"The allure is the intensity and the challenge of a dog fighting to the death."
From what I've read about "legitimate" dogfights, they aren't supposed to fight them to the death. Legit handlers look down on such practices (though they do put down dogs they have to pick up). As SoloAJ said, the dogfighting doesn't really upset me (although I don't support it either), it's the other stuff he's accused of. |

Re: Hilarious Vick article by Deion Sanders
The thing that really pisses people off is the idea/attitude amongst a lot of NFL players that "Hey man...drowning/beating/burning/strangling dogs ain't no thang...they just dogs"

Aces,
no, but it's a big deal. Also, iggy is only half correct.. Kobe caught it pretty damn hard from the media. Maybe not quite this bad, but it wasn't just brushed over. It even lingered after all signs pointed to the girl being a gold digger and Kobe was cleared of the charges. |

This situation reminds me of a scene in the movie “New Jack City,” when drug dealer Nino Brown is on the witness stand and eloquently says, “This thing is bigger than me.” [/ QUOTE ] Wow. |

Re: Hilarious Vick article by Deion Sanders
[ QUOTE ]
they were accused, not indicted. [/ QUOTE ] Incorrect. Both were indicted. Lewis was charged, indicted, went to trial, and plead guilty to a lesser charge of obstruction of justice as part of a plea deal that ended his murder trial. Kobe was charged, indicted, was scheduled for trial and during pre-trial hearings arrived at a deal with the victim and had the case dismissed as a result of the deal. Also, hopefully you understand an indictment is nothing more than a formal charge/accusation by the court, and is not actually a finding of guilt, but the predecessor to trial to determine such. |
