I'd play it the same and call the river, I'd need a read to shove the river.

I play it the same if I'm in, but fold preflop. I bet out flop sometimes here, but probably not in this particular spot.

Honestly, I don't see any reason to get involved preflop at all. I know that's not really the crux of the hand, but that's what stuck out.

Just call river in a SNG. BHokie and others are right.

I would shove the river. The only hands you're behind are Ax and Jx suited. And since he was in the BB, that seems even more unlikely. I think there are a lot of hands he pays you off with. I wouldn't back down just because you don't have the nuts.

OP,

I posted a pretty similar hand a day or 2 ago. You can go find it if you feel so inclined (and didn't already look at it).

Meh 3rd nut flush is roughly 50/50 against any other flush.

This early I wouldn't, the times you bust don't make up for the times you get stacked IMO. It's a nice take down if you are ahead and you have time to recover if you are behind. This early I'd weigh surviving, over getting stacked.

I think you just patched a leak of mine. Thanks!

Am I a total nit if I fold this preflop?

Just call the river - no reason to get stacked on the first hand when you (presumably) have a skill edge you can parlay later.

You see 5 clubs. There are 8 left. Possible combinations that beat you are:

A2, A4, A6, A7, A8, A9, AJ,
J2, J4, J6, J7, J8, J9,

And combinations that don't beat you are:

92, 94, 96, 97, 98
82, 84, 86, 87
72, 74, 76,
62, 64,
42

13 you lose, 15 you win. Roughly 50/50.
