Have any sites actually said they were against this? If it actually were allowed, it would definitely increase hands/hour a ton.

I don't think this would be worth the time it would take to figure out and plug in the specs for folding

This topic has been covered plenty times in the Software forum, the answer is always along these lines...

An "auto folder" is clearly a bot, since it does both the "decision making" and the "action taking" parts of playing a hand, leaving nothing left to be done by the user.

From PokerStars Prohibited Software page:

Q. In general, what kinds of programs are prohibited?

A.

1. Any program that shares hole card data with other players or programs is colluding, and is prohibited.
2. Any program that works off of a central database of player profiles is prohibited.
3. Any program that plays without human intervention (a "bot") or reduces the requirement of a human playing. For instance, an "auto-folder" is prohibited.

I don't know about other Site's stance on this issue, I'd imagine it is similar.

Using an "auto-folder" is almost certainly a bad idea. Especially for HSNLers with many $$$ in their accounts.

I wonder about a program that constricts your play, but you still have to press the button for your action. For instance, you're at a full table with 84s UTG -- you can't call or raise, only fold. That would prevent tilt/spew and you would also have to click fold. Assume that it required users to define ranges and that ranges couldn't be saved, transmitted and easily imported.
