[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] But this is exactly how i would play 1010+. [/ QUOTE ] think about this [/ QUOTE ] Against a decent villain it seems mandatory to bluff here from time to time. [/ QUOTE ] or value bet thinner or shove over his raises or check raise bluff / try for a freecard. if you're trying to mix up your play, this is probably one of the worst ways to do it [/ QUOTE ] So what would you value bet here. 99 is a clear bet, 77 is closer but still a bet I guess. It`s really hard to shove over an all in bet. Taking the freecard would be std of course. Still I think we should bluff 2-barrel and 3-barrel this spot with some frequency. I mean villain really cant call down here. |

Pretty sure betting the turn is god awful if you aren't betting the river.

Re: Triple Barrel Bluff 1000NL
Do not like. I give up on turn. If I bet turn I would triple barrel quite a lot of cards but def not this one.

Re: Triple Barrel Bluff 1000NL
how can u hate that, villain is thinking player, this is a very common spot and when villain knows that hero is also a good player he knows that he doesnt 3barrel on this board usually, i think u really should do that on a few occasion, but really not often.

Re: Triple Barrel Bluff 1000NL
I don't understand all the hate for this.
I would normally give up on turn. However, if we have a tight/sensible image, and villain is on the tighter side postflop, then I don't mind it sometimes. We are UTG and can quite reasonably represent a good pocket pair. Villain is a thinking player, and knows this. He would appear to have a medium strength hand that won't be able to take the heat often enough. Do TAGs really routinely call this river with 66/44 etc? In fact, in the actual hand, it looked like villain was hoping to stack AA with his 55/88, so you were correct in terms of "thinking about what he thinks you have".... e.g. villain would appear to be putting us on the hand we were representing, so our story does look coherent in that respect. |
