I'll happily spend more money on my dog than I do on myself. He's a member of the family.

My dog is a diabetic. He's 14 and about 95 percent blind. He gets special food ($$$) and twice-a-day insulin shots ($$$$). He also has to have his blood sugar levels checked at the vet every 3-4 months ($$$$$). Best money I've ever spent.

Spent $2500 on my very first bird (surgery, week in the clinic, meds etc..). Unfortunately she died before she came home, pet store footed the bill after the vet found out they lined their cages with treated wood chips, also gave new bird from different store.

No, I give the IV to her every other day and only 100ml of the fluid (The IV is about 1500ml) but each new IV is $33. I wouldn't be down for 24/7 IV treatment, that's hectic and not worth it, and I agree with the your point on quality of living.

One of our family cats broke his arm really bad, and required surgery which cost over 3400$. I'm pretty broke, and so are my parents but they loved him enough to go into debt over it...

Deciding if your pet should live or die is one of the toughest decisions you will ever have to make...

I wish you and your cat the best.
