It is indeed a good approach to HU if you're outclassed by your opponent. But you have to ask why someone would enter a HU tourney if they thought this was true. Very weird. He's handing you whatever edge you can get from the maths, instead of whatever edge you might or might not have had against him.

I always got the impression that it is complete donks.
First of all they do it from hand one and is not players I played before as a rule so to me it never seemed like they use it as a way to counter certain opponents. I guess they must be happy with a 40% chance of winning...if your a bad player that's a better win rate than you get trying to to play poker and with a bit of luck they might think it's actually turning out profitable for a while. Or maybe enough players will wait for a real monster before calling so they actually do ok from it? |

[/ QUOTE ] Most likely they watched a lot of tourneys on TV, never got any idea about the reasons why you might go AI preflop, and they think it looks like fun. Casinos apparently get people turning up wanting to play "the all-in game" these days. |
