the way you guys are talking it sounds like hero has the best hand here. he usually doesnt. thus cut it out with the "defending your hand" stuff. you cant defend your hand if you're almost always drawing to begin with.

this is an easy c/c of one bet and anything else is spew.

A flop check raise against a late position player willing to bet because it was checked to him isn't so bad. If bet = pair, then don't check-raise.

a CR is bad on a board this drawy where you usually dont have fold equity even if everyone checks to the button.

if you CR and 1 person plus the button calls and the turn is a blank, like a red T, are you betting?

the only way this play would have merit is if you could get everyone to fold, and the button to fold on a turn blank. if you have 67 on a K73 board, i like it. on a 543 two tone board, you are asking for problems.

I would bet here, a one card OESD and a flush draw, I deffinately bet here. Aside from flopping a full house or trips, what kind of flop would you hope to bet with this hand.

The value of this play is a function of how often you have the best hand. This board is so low that it's far less likely that anyone paired up than 862, so you actually have the best hand more often than it may seem. If you can K7o to fold, that's good. If you get A8 to call two bets with only 3 outer, that's golden value.

That was the point of the SSHE hand, that this hand is actually strong because there's a good chance that everyone missed the flop and the draws give lots of outs if someone did hit a pair (or two, or a set).
