Re: 2 things that bother me about widescreen format
[ QUOTE ]
LOL at people who can't work their TV's. Though my GF's parents bought some fancy 16:9 TV but they don't get an HD signal and they watch everything in some horrible stretch mode and it just looks so godawful so I guess you can do worse than OP. [/ QUOTE ] people that do this cannot be helped. i initially though they didn't know you could switch the setting so i switched it off widescreen so it wasn't stretching and they were like "what'd you do!!! now the screen is smaller!!" (mind you, this tv is like 70 inches.) |

What dance group topped the charts in mexico during the early and middle 90s yes and yes music factory. Ive been trying to get a standup routine written, and I know there is a joke in this somewhere, and that is a stupid one, but I cant figure out how to make it funny. Re: 2 things that bother me about widescreen format
I am pretty sure your TV is the issue here. Most likely you do not know how to configure it.
The reason wide screen is better is; you get to see more of the picture, meaning if you are watching in 4:3, the sides of the movie are getting cut off. Ben HUr was shot in 2.76:1. If you watch it in 4:3, you would be leaving so much out it would be sick. Most likely you would only see the horse, possibly even the outside horses would be cut off. So if you really like movies, and cinematography, you should always watching 16:9 as a minimum. If there are better ratios, go for them. Anyway, post an a audio video forum to find out how to configure your TV. |

Re: 2 things that bother me about widescreen format
Your HDTV has multiple viewing options for the screen. Zoom is one of them. Just fiddle with those and it might work. Maybe by a long shot setting the resolution from 1080 to 720 might work (like I said, long shot).
Another thing about HD. DirecTV talks about 100 full HD channels this fall. What they fail to tell you a majority is non-HD content (from shows from previous years) so they are simply up-converted for HD. There is still not a lot quality HD content on public TV (outside sports) |
