I think this is a call because of the bet size, if he bet $160 I would fold instantly.

Anyway, he had AK! wtf.

Not sure about this, in my experience the full pot sized bet from fish is almost always a very strong hand.
I would be much more likely to call 160

Fold, find a better spot, we don't beat much here. No offense Xorbie but you're lending way too much credence to total air/missed gutshots here, hands like J8 and 55 (?) don't play this way often enough to warrant calling getting 2-1.

i think that in general this is a big hand from a fish, but there are also times that it's something stupid like a worse Tx, random Kx, 55, or something else that has showdown value but gets played dumbly.

that sounds kind of contradictory but i'm trying to say that the range is definitely not polarized (like with an ok/decent player) and that it's usually at least top pair.

there are a lot of info missing here:
what is the effective stack?
how much do you raise pre?
how much do you bet on the flop?
is this player more a calling station or calls he only the flop if he has a peace of cake?

I think their thought process (if any), is that the river is their last chance to get any money in, so they bet as much as they can.

Fold, in a spot like that the huge river bet is looking to get paid off on a hand. If he had a bluff he'd either bet turn or bet like 150 now.
