Re: laptop for poker - what do i need
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I was considering the following, which cost about $1870 (without buying an extended warranty). How do people think this compares to the Dell? HP dv 8000T Operating System: Windows XP Professional Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) Duo processor T2500 (2.0 GHz) Display 17.0" WXGA+ Ultra BrightView Widescreen (1440x900) Graphics Card 256MB NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) Go 7600 Memory FREE Upgrade to 1.0GB DDR2 SDRAM (2x512MB)!! Hard Drive 100 GB 7200 RPM SATA Hard Drive Primary CD/DVD Drive LightScribe Super Multi 8X DVD+/-RW w/Double Layer Networking Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network w/Bluetooth Productivity Software Microsoft(R) Works/Money Security Software Norton Internet Security 2006 - 24 Mo Subscription OS and Recovery Media Genuine Windows XP Professional Backup CD [/ QUOTE ] i was at my parent's place and played on my dad's dell 9400. it worked very well with PT auto-importing while i played (i don't use a HUD so i can't comment on that), but the 1440x900 resolution sucks, as i hate overlap. [/ QUOTE ] I ended up ordering basically the same machine, but opting for a resolution of 1680x1050, which was the most available. It is due to arrive in a few days, and hopefully will turn out to be a good choice. |
