Re: so effing sick
You must 3-bet the turn. There are a ton of combo draws he could be doing this with, and there's just too many scary river cards when you're this deep.
As played, whine and call river. |

Why would you ever think of folding here?

op, do you think stacks are too deep to 3bet turn? [/ QUOTE ] only in the sense that I think he could get away from a lot of 2pair hands that I would expect him to value bet on the river. My default is to 3bet but this guy was better then the typical opponent at this level and I was playing much tigher then normal. (post flop). |

Re: so effing sick
very interesting answer.
what do you think about the board being very drawy on the turn -- 1. doesn't your hand need protection, and 2. how worried are you that a bunch of river cards could cause you to get bluffed off the best hand? and how important are these factors relative to what you said in your last post? edit: made this post before seeing your edit |

Basically, I didn't think my hand needed protection and was planning to call any reasonable bet on any river. Also, if you noticed in the 99 hand he bet his set very hard on a drawy board, in this hand his turn raise is on the smaller side indicating (to me) that his hand doesn't need much protection (i.e straight as opposed to 2pair) making shoving even worse. In general, 2p2rs way overrate the aggression of regular players w/ combo draws. |
