The first time I went to AC, I stayed at Holiday Inn downtown, for $75. The next night he upped the rate to $150, so I drove to Black Horse Pike and saw this flashing sign saying "Red Carpet Inn, $49.99 Weekdays" so I checked in there.

When I opened the door to the room it smelled like bad cheese, so I went back to the office and asked the Indian guy behind the desk for another room, instead he offerred me a can of air freshener. I walked back to the room, past the black shirtless pimp who was slapping his hoe outside his room, went into my room, locked the door, only to find the deadbolt was bypassable by the manager's keycard. I propped a chair up against the door, went to lay down, and as I removed the afghan on top of the bed, I heard it snap crackle and pop because rather than being soft it was rather crispy. I decided not to remove the bedding, lied down, was feeling rather lonely and afraid until the cockroaches made their presence known. I slept with one eye open until the morning when I went to take a shower, but first had to remove the crime scene tape from the tub. Never again. There were stains made in that room made before I was born. The place should be condemned. It was horrible.

The Red Carpet Inn was, no joke, my go-to hotel last year when I routinely spent weekends in Atlantic City.

I was silly to skimp so much on lodging, but thankfully it only led to some funny trip reports, not great injury (unless I caught some disease that hasn't manifested itself yet).

Yeah, Holiday Inn or HoJo are the way to go cheap IMO.

For the record, I am not racist. Here in Canada race isn't an issue. Political correctness has sunk to a new low if you can't post what you saw with your own eyes.

I think it is better to stay at the casino hotels or the nicer places on the highways into town. Basically everywhere is real expensive on weekends in the summer and real cheap on weekdays in the winter, so no point in going to cheap places.

Also, you can sometimes get a poker rate or other comped rate. If you are with someone who gambles at the slots and tables, you can often get a free or cheap room.

I wouldn't call you a racist, but its plain as day that you are bigoted. And yes, there was a reason why your post was edited.
