Jeans shorts on your first day? That is a major blunder. Almost as bad as not asking the interviewer or at least the temp agency what the dress code is there.

I worked at a company with a casual dress code, and I'd have sent you home for wearing jean shorts, even on the fairly lax Even More Casual Friday.

Walking in to your first day at work with jean shorts and sneakers is unbelievably retarded. Not only that, but deciding it was appropriate based on what other people were wearing was stupid. Walking out of the building and swearing was stupid. And then you proceeded to go home and EMAIL the receptionist and ask her to dinner. And now, instead of laughing it all off in OOT, you're getting emo. Like I mean...really. People who are good at life don't do these things. They just know better. Take your jean shorts and throw them in the fireplace. That should set you off in the right direction. Cheers!
