just saw this in the ap recap: "for the first time in his brilliant career, Manning has thrown for 300 yards in three consecutive games."

can this be true? i thought manning was a far more prolific passer than this would imply and would have already done this many times in his career.

It's correct, he's been close though.

Is Peyton Manning the best QB ever (since the AFL-NFL merger)? I mean, according to your stats, he should have 4 MVP's by now and pretty much be a lock for the 5th one. I don't know if anyone's been as good as he is.

"Yeah, wer jerst come out ind plard like wer know wer can plar. Marvern Harrerson irs jerst phernomernal. Whert else can yer say?"

I agree he's the best, but damn, it's painful listening to him talk. Such a brilliant QB thinker; I just wish he was a bit more eloquent.

We tend to stay out of the debate. From a statistical perspective, we can't really tell because we don't have pbp data from before 1998. There's so much more that goes into that distinction though, and you get into a weird grey area that we just pretty much stay away from because it's kind of a sucking vortex of irrationality.

Random question..on a football team how many extra wins are u worth being the best player/qb ever in the league

i.e. if Peyton and Leinart switched places this year..how many more wins with the Cards would Manning be worth?

I have friends that were so pissed off when the Colts took Manning over Ryan Leaf..

IM exchange

Me: you wanted Leaf over Manning
Me: I remember
Buddy: I thought about it, because I didn't like Manning out of Tennessee
Buddy: that's not the same player though lol
Me: you wanted Irsay's head
Buddy: Isn't Manning a different animal now than when he was Tenn.?
Me: dont sugar coat it
Buddy: I didn't like him at Tennessee to be honest, I thought he was overhyped
Me: If they took Leaf the colts are in L.A. right now
Buddy: you are 100 percent correct
