A pretty good idea is to not really listen to the alcohol advice of anyone who touts Grey Goose. In case you didn't know, this is an over-priced and over-marketed vodka for which the reputation far exceeds its actual quality. Definitely look elsewhere.

Thank you for being one of the first people I've heard who also knows this.

Really? I'm far from the only anti-Grey-Goose disciple around here. If I'm the first, you really need to start reading the alcohol advice posts from El Diablo, RunDownHouse, ethan, and MrMon. There are other converts, too, but in spite of all the frat boy balla types who get their vodka mostly for prestige, there are plenty of people who know their [censored] about alcohol around here.

Any Svedka fans? I always thought it had pretty strong price-performance. Perhaps I was just getting it on sale.

Stoli is one I've actually not tried much of to comment on. If you've tried Stoli, Fris, AND Rain, I'd be curious to hear from you.

I had a bottle of Svedka in my bar for a while sitting just slightly consumed while I drank Fris instead. Eventually, I brought it to a friends party as my donation to the party's bar. It wasn't bad, but I didn't like it as much as Fris, and not as much for the price, either.

Grey Goose goes down smooth, and does not taste like rubbing alcohol. Thats about all I ask for in a quality vodka. The differences in tastes of good vodkas is negligable, especially if you are mixing drinks, or chasing your shots. I think you guys that say Grey Goose sucks are cool, and I want to be more like you.

If you say Grey Goose goes down smooth and doesn't taste like rubbing alcohol, that's fine. I agree with you. It's not a bad vodka. However, have you tried Fris or Rain? It's less that I'm trying to be cool and more that I don't like wasting money on vodka when I can get something of comparable or superior quality for less money.

I never said that it sucks, just said that most people who say that it's the best vodka are naive and know very little about booze in general.
