only way i take garnett over kobe is if there are already two other big time scoring threats on my team.... rockets for example would rather have garnett than kobe, nuggets etc.... but assuming he's not the third star it's DEFINATELY kobe (i voted kobe)

In the short run, probably Kobe because he can do amazing things and some of those other negatives I associate with him won't be as big a factor in this type of situation.

Out of the three competititors, Dirk is closest imo.

What about Kobe vs. Wade?

Since when? Wade had a team that started what 0-7 and made the EC semifinals with a team composed of Odom, Butler, Haslem, E. Jones, Alston. Yes it's the EC, but I don't think Kobe's done that much better with a bunch of mediocre teammates.
