Re: Vegas on a budget
Yeah, I have not stayed at the Sahara, but they have an awesome poker rate. They're way at the end of the strip, but the good thing is there's a monorail station right there.

Re: Vegas on a budget
1) cheapovegas.com
2) Ellis Island Super 8 on Koval behind Bally's leaves you walking distance to the Strip. 3) Southpoint is OK, has an OK casino and poker room, and has a shuttle to the strip. |

Do you need previous playing time like in Atlantic City? [/ QUOTE ] I think Bellagio and Mirage might (not sure). Other places such as Wynn, Monte Carlo, TI, Orleans, definitely not. Call and ask. |

Re: Vegas on a budget
Here's another vote for either the Gold Coast or the Orleans.
I have stayed at both and have always been satisfied with price, quality and service. Both provide shuttle service to mid-Strip. Gold Coast is next door to Rio and across the street from Palms, so you have three casinos within walking distance. The Orleans is not near any other casinos but is near some strip clubs (most notably Seamless), if you're into that sort of thing. Both have "lowest rate" guarantees. However, my experience has been that you won't find a lower rate through a third-party booking service than the "internet specials" the two hotels offer themselves. As for poker rooms, the Orleans has one of the best and largest in Vegas, and they run some excellent tourneys for value. However, it is frequented by a lot of locals and generally I have found it to be one of the tougher rooms in town in terms of competition. The Gold Coast has a small poker room that usually has just 2/4 and 4/8 LHE. Although it is also predominantly locals, the competition there is much softer and the games can be pretty wild. Also, comps at Gold Coast are generous and max. rake is only $3. Good luck! |

[ QUOTE ] Thoughts: Orleans is a quick cab ride to the Strip and will be low priced but a nice place. Plus there are poker discounts available to the rate with 5-6 hours of play, which 3 of you will kill with no problem. [/ QUOTE ] Agree-think they also have a free shuttle to the strip which runs frequently. coming back may be difficult after midnight but a cab ride can be used in that circumstance. [/ QUOTE ] Just go to Harrah's and take their free shuttle to the Rio and take rio to orleans for 3 bucks plus tip But yea Orleans is a great place for the money loved it there... they got bowling alley which is fun to blow off some steam and a nice poker room full of locals plus they got subway about 10 yards away from the PR so if u get the munchies then go for it... my first time to vegas I got the orleans for 6 nights with round trip flight for 450 PP Orleans is your best off strip bet... don't stay downtown, the rooms inside are shittty and only place to really play poker is binions which is pretty scuzzy itself... Try the orleans you'll love it. |
