I hope this will get a response in this thread, as I do not want to start a new one.

My dad wants to seriously start playing poker. He wants to begin with a bankroll of $250. What is the best way to build that roll?

He says his eventual goal is to have a $2000 roll he can pull cash off of each month.

Any advice?

I think if his goal is just to get to 2k, hes more productive doing more or less anything than poker

hi guys, i like to share my life story, so could someone give me some tips on these questions? (I was a >$50 MTT grinder and finally brokethough, $5 --> $18k)

-I have decided to cash out $3k (i dont need the money to pay the bills but I would prolly use it to buy the following), My current setup two Samsung 204BWs that supports 1680x and I can do 12tables resized no-overlap but anymore and it just gets too tiny and I cannot concentrate but I would like to be able to do more tables. I'm thinking about getting that dell that does 2850x by whaever that costs like $1300, but I would also need a new video card prolly, and just sell one of the samsungs or gave it to a friend and keep the other to use with the dell. I'm also consdering getting this Westinghouse that supports 1920x and is only $400 /w a Samsung. What do you think? I plan on playing poker for a while, i really enjoy the game.

-After the cashout, this leaves my roll at around $15k. I plan on playing every $100 and less tourney and $5 above on full tilt and stars, with occasional shots in the nightlys $150 and sunday major. I know kinda nitty, but the highest I used to play was the $50s. My lifetime ROI is 80% on stars over 2800 tournament, avg buyin of $13 for $30k and been playing seriously for about 6 months.

-Last thing is about full tilt, I am a tourney player only, I dont really do cash except for like $100 NL for fun. Do i need rakeback? I made an account same name as stars on tilt, but ive never played there at all and I just use the name to search/observer chat, but I am going to start playing there. Should I get rakeback as an MTTer? Do i need to make an another account there as i heard you have to sign up for rakeback first? Where do I get it? also, since i'm probably going to xfer money from stars to tilt, if i do ok on tilt and want to cash out there etc and never deposited will I have problems? I know support and stuff sux, etc. After I get the rakeback thing sorted out, if someone could do a small 1k-2k full tilt monies for my pstar monies let me know.

thanks alot for any advice guys, its mucho appreciated.
