Re: lost 8K my story help and advice
[ QUOTE ]
Its my job.. I go to school also.. can somebody please with experience in this or high understanding of how pathetic I'm please provide some advice and guide me please [/ QUOTE ] Again, the answer is obvious. Seek help (Gambler's Anonymous?), STOP gambling, start paying your friend back. Although you are being very pathetic, all of your other proposed "solutions" are FAR more pathetic. Especially #2...huge cop-out...just lets down everyone around you. [/thread] |

As for the last question, you're REALLY asking the wrong people. You're going to get nothing but abuse here with a story like that. If you are suffering that much depression and are seriously suicidal, you obviously need professional help. A bunch of smart-ass poker players (myself included) aren't going to be much help to you in the psychological department. |

GOOD. 2. I need advice on the follow: How to manage with such a horrible day? It may not seem like it now, but $3,500 is not that much money. Pick yourself up and move on. You'll have worse days in your life, you'll have better. How do I move on and continue with my life? It's not as easy for some people as my glib answer above. If that's the case for you, maybe you need to seek out some professional help. How do I look at myself in the mirror? A lot easier than you will if you keep gambling and/or steal to try to win it back. If you move on from this and pay back your debt, you'll have nothing to be ashamed of. I might go so far as to say you'll be proud of having risen from this depth, and for good reason. What do I do about the 3.5k? Pay it off bit by bit. $3,500 may seem like a lot of money to you now, but it isn't. |

Do you think I should tell my mom or will that just make her worry? [/ QUOTE ] Not sure how to answer that one. If it were me, I'd probably try to work my way out of it without telling her. However, if the choice is between telling her and getting her help and suggestions, or not telling her and doing something stupid, obviously you need to tell her. I think you have to answer this one for yourself, though. It would probably be best for someone to know about your problem...if you have a true gambling addiction, you're likely going to need some support to get you through it. If not your mother, maybe you should check out Gamblers Anonymous. |
