Re: value crai on river, flush on paired board
this is fine.
its especially good if he knows who you are, since every post you make seems to involve a river bruff c/r. |

Re: value crai on river, flush on paired board
[ QUOTE ]
how come? [/ QUOTE ] just because his range is mostly polarised to small one pair hands that don't bet that often especially on this card. Sometimes he will have a flush and sometimes he may have slowplayed a set. He will often fold the one pair hands, and since if we had a set we(that missed a c/r on the turn) would play the river exactly like this he may fold the river. Again I think a smaller bet is good since this is a good card (in his eyes) for his range, it will get value from smaller pairs and will induce a raise (both for value and as a bluff) from 9-x / flush hands aswell as from missed straight draws or like 6-x type hands. |

Re: value crai on river, flush on paired board
[ QUOTE ]
if a 9 is raising isnt it also bet/calling? [/ QUOTE ] when we c/r our range of hands is mostly polarised around nut hands on this board (at least for an average / general Hero especially one that has been playing straightforward against an 18/16 type). If he is bet/calling he believes we are very often c/ring the river as a bluff and given the OP would believe this to be incorrect (although one poster says that he often c/r bluffs the river). If we bet the river in such a way that villain believes we are bluffing or are doing it as a blocking bet or for thin value with a weak hand then raising for value becomes more appealing. It all depends on your ranges and what you perceive people to do but as I said I believe this to be the standard for a generic Hero / 18/16 Villain |

I dont think 9x raises the river if we bet, but he might talk himself into calling if we c/r.

[/ QUOTE ] i also think a smaller flush is a possibility for villain, and the same applies to that. [/ QUOTE ] this was exactly my thinking. if villain has me beat i'm going to go broke because he could be raising a smaller flush. so i may as well try to get the most in vs 9x/flush/bluff. and i'm more likely to stack 9x/flush by c/r. |
