Re: Turned set w 33 in 3 bet pot, flush river
Can someone help figure out villains range in this hand with me? I know 55 and AK diamonds show up obv, but what else, like hands were beating?

Re: Turned set w 33 in 3 bet pot, flush river
I like betting $150 on the turn. A lot of villains tense up with an overpair to the board here fearing the worst and then call a lot of rivers but like nobody just outright folds if you lead the turn.

Re: Turned set w 33 in 3 bet pot, flush river
Villains 17/12.5 CRAI on turn is best, imo. Why shove the river though?? Seems far from optimal move here... As played I cant put villain on a hand that I beat by the river, any care to offer suggestions on villains poss holdings

Re: Turned set w 33 in 3 bet pot, flush river
yeah I think a checkraise on the turn is mandatory there. He doesnt have any combination of cards with a five that often isoing UTG+1. even if he does wtv. you still have some equity for the riv but I think you have to try to get it in on the turn. You stomp his range and are ahead of his calling range too. As played I would bet the riv if he s not prone to riv. bluff raise, which most people arent.

Re: Turned set w 33 in 3 bet pot, flush river
by the river I think its fairly likely villain has AdKd, could have gotten a little big aggro isoing you with JdKd JdTd or soemthing like that possibly, but by the river a lot of his calling hands from the turn would be instachecks showdown on riv like AA or KK, QQ woulda maybe shove. The range of hands villain is shoving on the river there would consist almost purely of hands you cant beat no?.

Re: Turned set w 33 in 3 bet pot, flush river
you beat AA/KK/hearts/QhXh, bet more on turn so you can shove the river, you really shouldn't worry about flushes in 3-bet pots unless it's a four-flush board

Re: Turned set w 33 in 3 bet pot, flush river
So its possible that he turned his AA KK into a bluff(maybe thinks its good??) w the strait on board, thinking I might lay down strait, is that likely?

Re: Turned set w 33 in 3 bet pot, flush river
that is fairly unlikely no. If he were a thinking opponent which most 17/12 s are he s not going to do that he ll realise those hands have showdown value. I dont think that ever happens, I may be wrong though.

Re: Turned set w 33 in 3 bet pot, flush river
As a 17/12 player I never ever have 5's or in fact any hand with a 5 in it here pf.
Pf his range for me is at a push 1010-AA AK AKs AQs and thats probably wide. I think with no set you have to fold the flop or at least do somthing rather than calling whether lead or cr. As played I think he either has AKs AQs QQ and thats it a small chance of a bluff, AA and KK if I am him I check behind. The problem with leading the river is any bet you make commits you, cant see any reason to put in 300bb's + and then to fold for 100 more in a huge pot. |

Exactly, Thats why c/c to protect vs a raise seems better; but that would mean having to call a river bet practically 100% of the time amirite? With the strait on board I cant imagine him betting without the flush or QQ. |
