I don't understand why you didn't just bet the flop since you were willing to call 2-cold after you checked.

I disagree, for the reasons you said. Leading at this flop for fold equity is like playing basketball with a marble for deception.

I wouldn't say everyone knows what you have, and even if they are capable of that, what does a flop bet for you?

Oh I put him on AK but since he, being very aggressive himself bet, he must have an overpair here.

Nah, I think the check here is reasonable.

I certainly wouldn't expect a flop bet to take it down, but your flop check is what made the rest of the hand play so f'd up IMO.

i'd like to know what you were thinking on the turn, because i can't imagine what possessed you to raise. i literally looked through the hand 3 times to verify that you raised the turn with no pair and no draw.

yeah, that would be why i posted it, im sort of lost on this one, what do you think the best line is?

[/ QUOTE ]

you made a marginal cap preflop (i agree with it but it's marginal). this is a pretty classic example of getting married to a hand that was good preflop but whiffed on the flop. the board is coordinated and you don't even have a backdoor flush draw.

start occasionally checking flops with overpairs then. just because you capped preflop doesn't mean you need to bet the flop and/or see a turn card
