Re: AJ offsuit two pair
preflop = good. its not rocket science kiddies.
flop = not good. just bet it. you dont want it checked through see, now on the turn you CR and he 3 bangs it you cant be sure where you at...in disguising your hand you dont know where you are at as much. that being said, people who 3bet when someone (represents a) slowplayed monster usually arent bluffing. once you cap the turn just bet the river to ensure you get at least one bet in there. you have the lead so lead. anyway, at some point you gotta start to think that you are beat. putting in 8bets here is overplayed and on the path to spewville. you gave us a read that the table was respecting your bets and then this guys betting at every opportunity...what do you think that says? (assuming not a maniac) [ QUOTE ] Another question, what if I had bet the flop and got raised. Should I consider folding there? [/ QUOTE ] so you are considering folding here but had no problem putting in 8 bets on the turn and river after you represented a slowplayed monster? that 3 bet by villian after you CRed the turn signals significant strength....way more than a simple flop raise would. [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Xhads post btw. try this (by replying in this thread), look at the hand from villians perspective and assume you bet the flop...try and put him on a range that would raise you right there on the flop. edit: for the above Im talking about starting with a range if hero bets and villian raises but whatever the action you can start with a range and narrow/change it based on action. eg, he could have a flushdraw on the flop.... |

Re: AJ offsuit two pair
Looks like KT or another AJ could be played like that. Other than those hands I don't know what else he could hold and play that way.

Re: AJ offsuit two pair
In a bit of a loose game, raising preflop with AJo is fine. It might be a bit of a thin line at tighter tables, but a raise isn't bad at all.
Bet the flop. You don't want this flop to get checked through, since this is an amazingly drawy board. Force out gutshots right now if you can by betting. Don't let anyone see a card here for free. I might, might slow down on the turn a bit. He has shown that he has a hand. Most people don't raise a checkraiser with nothing. I call the turn bet and probably checkraise the river if a jack or ace hits and check/call if another card hits. |

Re: AJ offsuit two pair
Scary Board you can drawing to 4 outs already or dead some times, some passive and weak op can have a set of J, I don't know, but raise the flop here gives you the best chance to win more money

Re: AJ offsuit two pair
Leading the flop is the way to go.
Since you didn't, you did under-represent you hand, but with how much he is pushing back, I think you need to just call down somewhere. Possibly after he 3-bets the turn or after you cap the turn, lead the river, and he raises that. Also, I don't know why you went for a river check/raise after capping the turn. He'll probably bet it again, but if you really do think you're ahead, it would be bad if he gets confused and checks behind on the river to see what you're taking this line with. |

The flop check call makes me puke. [/ QUOTE ] I'd supergrunch, but I didn't grunch. I agree with Xhad and Ozi much, of course. |

Re: AJ offsuit two pair
Preflop I fold this UTG in a 10 handed game. You have to bet this flop. Your hand is not strong enough to slowplay and there are to many draws out there. You need to make people pay. After MP3 reraises on the turn any extra raise you put in is just spewing chips.
