No. PM me if you're seriously interested in helping.

Only a few common words, like bastard and wanker, are not censored that might be censored, and I suspect this is because those words are more acceptable in the US than in the UK.

New, convoluted, invented words like, say, sh*tbagger, will always get past the auto-censor.

However, if posters play the game the way that Twoplustwo wants it played, they know that if sh*t is censored, so should sh*tbagger be, and that they shouldn't use such a word.

Other than the words being overused, what's the point of censoring curse words on a forum where everyone is supposed to be over 18 years old?

Can you put a space at the start of the filter word? Like " shht". That should take care of most combination words.

Because the owners of Twoplustwo don't want such words used on their site. That seems reasonable, to me.

I take your point, but there is no necessity to use vulgarities, particularly in the written word, and it's conventional to think that it's more professional not to swear "in public". There is also no requirement for a reader to be over 18.

Ryan mentioned that he will be checking if the new forum's software will have that option.

The bad news with a catch-all system like that, and at least one of the poker sites uses such, is that if you say, "My holiday in Scunthorpe was fun", it comes our as, "My holiday in [censored] was [censored]."

So, the question is: I see words such as "f*ck" routinely written on 2+2 forums. Is this forbidden?

[/ QUOTE ]

yes, since it's basically the same thing as just saying the word

[/ QUOTE ]

What about if you're getting around the filter to use a word "legitimately" like "My dog's a b1tch" or "I had to bring in that f*ggot of wood."

The people who run this site want it to be "family friendly" for some reason. I agree that it's very odd that a poker website is significantly more "family friendly" than say Disney owned ABC.
