Re: One of the \"best players on the internet\" makes this play?
thanks sd, I'll try that out a few times and see how it works for me. I still prefer getting the chips in preflop with AA, as 80% of the time the bunny comes along anyway in non-live tourneys.

Re: One of the \"best players on the internet\" makes this play?
Doyle_Ungar here. I was at your table, saw the whole thing. The guy is a joke. I raise all in UTG with KQ os because were 7 handed, I had about 15 k in chips, he's in the BB and calls with J 9 os and hits a boat. He won every race since he was SS with 7 k left when he moved to our table, and beat you when he was a 10-1 dog, horrible, you did nothing wrong.

Re: One of the \"best players on the internet\" makes this play?
Thanks Doyle (Trappped). I know I got exactly what I wanted - all his chips in the middle when I'm a big favourite. I just don't get how he does so well if he makes these kind of plays all the time.

Re: One of the \"best players on the internet\" makes this play?
its a pity you showed the results - wouldve been cool to see what everyone put him on - im also trying to work out the agressive players thinking in these plays.
to me, if im trying a steal re-raise and get called and the flop comes with a king and the tight player that i tried to resteal c-bets, im thinking im in trouble - even with KT - id be afraid of being out kicked. do you guys do these plays often against a tight player in a similar situation? |

Re: One of the \"best players on the internet\" makes this play?
It's called luck, as much as we hate to admit it, the uncontrollable.
IMO, a guy that raises UTG late in a tourney, you don't wanna mess with. His play was pure donkey. He has to put you on minimum AK here. If he thinks you're weak, you wouldve folded preflop to his re-raise, seeing he was big stack and could cripple you. |

Re: One of the \"best players on the internet\" makes this play?
What hands is he possibly ahead of that I'd be betting on that flop? After he reraised preflop, I'm not going to bet anything that doesn't beat top pair crappy kicker am I? Or is this an advanced level play that I can't see?

Re: One of the \"best players on the internet\" makes this play?
He made a resteal and it didn't work. Pf isn't great but it isn't that bad, obviously belowabove is good but that doesn't mean he doesn't make mistakes. Once he flops top pair given the stack sizes relative to the pot size he can't really ever fold so he check shoves to maximize value.

I'm not defending BA, but to say he is a joke is beyond retarded. What were BA's pot odds on your open push? blinds and stack sizes? pretty sure he made the right and easy call. |
