are their extended blinds and deeper stacks? [/ QUOTE ] You start with 10k chips but the blinds start at 40/80. It's like a normal stars structure but with 2500 starting stacks with the starting stacks and blinds/antes multiplied by 4. |

I just think that tournaments with 5000+ entrants are pretty much crap-shoots. [/ QUOTE ] So wrong. |

Re: PokerStars Sunday Million
I ran up last Sunday to the Million for the first time from a 11r sat. I played it and cashed well. I didn't consider it all that difficult to make top 15%.
I noticed right away that there are lots of maniacs playing goof cards trying to build monster stacks for the win. My strategy was lay low, pick you spots, and you will profit. It worked out well. However if you are intending to win, you will need to visit Psycho City, as the chip leaders will have 20x-50x average or bigger stacks. |

Re: PokerStars Sunday Million
Cashed +/- $550 on a $33 buy... I consider 16x buy in pretty durn profitable.
At this point in my development, I considered a win in the million about 1:1 with a trip to mars. I work toward winning it...someday. |

[/ QUOTE ] It's simple. Stacks are 5/3*4 of the usual Stars' tourneys and blinds are 4x, so you take a square root of the stack size and divide it by a natural logarithm of the Big Blind size, multiply the result by pi and put it in the power of 2.718 (approximate value of "e") and then double it for a good measure - and there you go! Results in white - the equation produces the result of 220,907.10 which is what you might expect to be paid for the first place in the Millions. Elementary! |
