Runners are about 50/50. (Except Marina at the Bike, who gets $2 if she looks in my general direction.)

Cage gets $1 every time.

I started tipping because it just seemed appropriate. I still haven't moved on to tipping chip runners yet.

I tip chip runners but almost never cages.

Cage = $1 is standard for me, $5 on winning sessions.

Runners - $1 is standard, $5 if its the floor doing the running (equal parts grease). If the runner is Randal from the win he gets a sliding scale - I usually pay anywhere between $5 and $60 (this is not a typo) depending on how amazingly cool his is that day. Why? Because Randal is the #1 reason to play at the Wynn, he is the soul reason why our very loud drunken games (when they occur) never get bothered. He is my guardian angel! Gonores introduced me to him, I'll be forever in debt to him for that.

PS: This is a perfectly valid tipping thread, its a topic that hasn't been discussed before.

Typically not for regular transactions, but yes if I'm doing something like an account withdrawal or deposit.

I always give the cage at least $1 win, lose or draw. If I had a good session maybe a little more. Chip runners get $1, valet $5. I consider it part of the expense of going out, and if I can't afford a few dollars here and there I need to stay home.

Peace,
Mygtar

I've never tipped at the cage (and I always tip dealers and waitresses). It just seems strange...like tipping a bank teller. I'm not sure I know what a chip runner is...maybe they don't exist in AC?

There are no runners that I am aware of in AC, but you should tip the floor when they run for you. At the Borg there is a runner who stands around in the high limit room, but its really a guy with a pushcart who sells chips. I give him a whitey every time cause his job sucks.

very true. after you see how some people react to dealers, cage, floor etc.. sometimes being pleasent is more rewarding than a $1 chip.

this sounds really nitty, but i usually never tip anybody but the waitresses, b/c i mainly play at foxwoods where the dealers and pretty much everybody accept the waitresses/waitors dont keep their own tips, it all gets evenly dispursed.

but, when i start going to AC more often, and Vegas when I am done with school, it's going to be not just b/c they did their job, but if they do something i would constitute as being worthy of a tip.

i will tip if i end up with an odd dollar or if its a ton of racks or if the cage person does something out of the ordinary like asks me how i am today or says thank you...its usually about 50/50 for me giving them a buck...
