He is a mediocore at best 1B. There are numerous guys that would offer similar numbers that play for the league minimum. Why anyone would think he is worth of a trade is beyond me.

Haha, no. Name three starting first basemen that have the same projected-for-MLB power values, walk rate, and defensive efficiency as Choi.

I'm waiting.

Who's to say that Colletti didn't try to get a bag of balls for Choi and couldn't get any takers. He was one of Depodesta's moneyball/spreadsheet leftovers who wasn't going to see much action this year behind Nomar.

Little doesn't want somebody with a .253 BA and .336 OBP. So, from his perspective Dodger's win. But, this is the same Little that was never on board with Theo and gang (not pulling pedro was the straw that broke the camel's back). To not get anything for him is pretty ridiculous. He is 27 and batted in a pitcher's park. BOS basically gets him for nothing and can always move him to AAA. Lowell is hurt and Youkilis, Snow, and Choi can rotate if necessary.

The Dodgers are in bad shape if (when) Nomar gets hurt at 1B. Then they have Saenz to back him up? If Choi sucks, gets hurt, etc..., in BOS, then it was very inexpensive. Plus, his HR should go up in Fenway.

Until Nomar gets hurt. He can't play 162 games out there. Choi has more upside than Saenz and is cheaper. How hard will the NL west be to win this year? 4 games above .500? LAD should have tried for something at least.

Impossible. Theo Epstein himself said he wanted Choi.
