Theory #2 - It was someone who has played in the game before and was not noticed.

This is the answer to 90% of underground/home game robberies.

Agreed, or the guy really did owe money and that was the reason. Still, someone from the inside most likely has a close connection to the guys who did it.

What is the rake for if he isn't providing security?

Also, why are you posting at a place where one of the people responding thought you meant drug dealer when you said "dealer" despite that this is a poker thread, about a poker game. lmao. Just kidding bud, but it was pretty funny.

Honestly though, it could have been literally anyone. Not even someone you know, just someone who knew about the game, somehow. One of your players mentioned it to another player, who mentioned it to another player, who mentioned it to a dealer (cards people), who mentioned it to another dealer (again) who mentioned it to his friend, who knew a guy who'd done a job like this before, who lives in China. For real though, see what I'm saying?

It's just a house so there wasn't any. Since the guys knew where, the best time to strike, and the name of the guy, makes me believe that someone from the group of players is closely linked to the robbers.

I'm sure you think the game and who/how its run is a big secret, but I would wager that anytime anyone asks where theres a 1/2 NL game at a free bar tourney your game is mentioned. It could be anyone.

Did a European man with a monocle and thick moustache ever frequent this game? I can't remember his full name, but most people call him Colonel Mustard. He often dresses in African safari gear or similar outfits.

I'm asking because you mentioned that one of the robbers used a revolver, which happens to be his weapon of choice.

Any mods recently attended this thread? <cough>ban<cough> (and I'm not one to cry about bans lightly but for the love of God man what a moronic question.)

So let me get this straight Inspector. You think Phil Ivey robbed this guys home game?
