Do you not have music/talk radio/TV/something on in the background? That usually keeps me "less bored" when I play.

Let me re-phrase a bit....

I play worse when I run bad. If I played to the best of my ability when I run bad, I would lose less.

How do I get myself to play to the best of my ability regardless of how well I'm running.

Thats called tilt. I have no answers for it yet, but I have learned to just quit when it starts or I feel it coming.

Being able to take breaks when you feel you are playing bad is very important. We would all like to be completely above tilt but almost without exception the best thing we can do is be honest and let ourselves cool off.

One thing I've noticed recently is I had been checking my balance too often. I would obsessively check to see how much I had won or lost in my session, and this contributed to tilt. Try to think of it as one long session and just keep playing your cards. When you really get pissed, drink some water watch something funny.

As simplistic as it sounds, take deep breaths. Be mindful of your how your body is physically reacting to your situation and try and control it as much as possible

Mine is I tend to fix on a certain hand range or even specific hand for some players who seem very ABC, and then play like that's definitely what they have. I'm also a little too loose with draws against aggy players, as I assume they'll stack off if I hit.

...

Is not emotional. Is not physical. Is most likely technical.

Play lots of tourneys.

Ive had 15 hour sessions of losing MTT play.

It takes a LOT of beats in a session of cash for me to tilt beyond the usual "[censored] you mother [censored], take it now, im coming back for it you scumsucking [censored] stain". Or words to that effect.

Mostly i play like an emotionless 9 tabling robot with swear mode activated.

try to keep track of the exact action at every hand at every table, and see every showdown, and then take notes on each player involved... check the HH for the ones that you missed

12 tables won't seem too easy anymore =P
