wish I had a big enough roll to quit my dayjob. I'd pack up and move to Thailand or the Bahamas or something.

I don't know what it costs to live in Thailand, but if you wanted to live in Phillipines, $500US a month puts you in the middle class. My wife and I have property through her family there, and $60K US gets you a pretty nice house in a gated community.

I've considered it, except that I don't like the heat.

And they have some wild NL games in the casino near our property.

I don't think I could convince the Fiancee to move to a developing country so that I can give up my promising career as an engineer to be a full-time poker player. See the problem?

Nonetheless, how easy is it to set up an offshore account these day?

That sucks because 1 point for 12 seems like a bad exchange rate.
Of course They could have gave you nothing so guess you have to look at the glass half full and move on

Given Costa Rica any thought? Obviously, it'll cost a bit more to live there, but all indications are that it'll be a much better lifestyle, and, you know, paradise and all.

The book was my only reason for wanting to play there. No book for me either. Thanks, Doyle.

Probably the most disappointing thing is that SS2 is pumped full of Doyle's repeating to play at his site. Now he has pulled out of the market. Nice job.

Doyle's network shut them out as far as US players are concerned, and they don't really have any good choices for moving to a different network.

I can't see putting full responsibility for what's going on with them, on Doyle.

Doyles has the right to pull out of the U.S. market if they want. It's disappointing but I have no problem with it.

Doyles lied repeatedly about their plans and then sprung this on us at the last moment. That's completely on them.

Doyles refused to honor accumulated action points, effectively cheating U.S. players out of bonuses and merchandise worth hundreds or thousands of dollars. That's completely on them too.

Doyle Brunson's name and likeness popped up at login every day for months and assured us we were safe. Doyle Brunson is a liar.

The point is that this does not help his reputation. How much do you think full tilt paid him to transfer players and money.
I am sure for less than $300,000 all doyles room players could be made whole. People came to his site because they trusted him to be fair. Party pulled out and nobody lost anything. You could still use your points and everything. So party poker has a better reputation than Doyles Room. I guess Doyle still has a little grifter in him.

I do honestly belive tho, that if he read this thread he would do right by everyone.

Ps I havent played Doyles Room in over a year, but his name was reason I signed up there. I figured he wouldnt cheat.

Not a big deal, but when Party Poker pulled out of US market, I had about 6,000 pts. Tried to use their store to turn in pts. for a book. Never received the book. Looked up my acct. which still has the 6,000 pts. but I cannot cash the points and their store is closed.

Everyone else got their stuff. They also gave three months to cash points in. Try emailing saying you never got your book.

Doyles room reps are also constantly lieing about fed exing checks.

I requested about a week ago, first they say the checks will be fed exed today, then I talked to support Friday night and they said the checks were already fedexed on Fri.

Now I talk to support today and they say they will be fed exed Wed or Thur.

I had the same runaround and lies the last check I had fed exed.

Basically we won't be their customers anymore so they don't give a [censored].

I never got my book set either and I cleared them at least 5 months ago.

Now I just hope they don't screw us on rakeback.
