He says he is an all time winner in cash games. Listen to his interview. Of course someone can post in there he lies, but why should he? He was smart enough a long time ago to be set for life unlike other pros who are going broke month in month out. |

Re: Phil Hellmuth: Donk or not?
From Phil's latest blog:
[ QUOTE ] My hand of the year came up when Daniel raised it up to $4,000 to go, I called, Jennifer called, and then Sammy made it $20,000 more to go. Daniel folded, and I had a sense that Sammy had A-K [/ QUOTE ] I'd like to see one of these new-fangled so-called internet whizz-kids make a read like that. |

He's annoying, but he uses that to his advantage so well. Definitely not a donk, the haters are just jealous they can't make reads like him.

Re: Phil Hellmuth: Donk or not?
Phil is excellent at extracting money from very weak players (with medium to short stacks) and not putting his stack at risk. This makes him a great tournament player.
However, he is no match for a good player or a table of good players. Especially in a non-tournament setting |

Re: Phil Hellmuth: Donk or not?
Hellmuth promotes himself very well. Furthermore he seems to be arrogant in front of cameras and a whiner if he loses. Those are the reasons why he is a target for so many and a ton of people just like to see him fail.
Besides he is one of the best readers in the game, he is in very good shape stay on top of the Poker World for the next 15 years to come. Alcohol, drugs and bad bankroll managment seem to be unknown words for Phil. Again, he seems to be a very smart person knowing his skills and goals. |
