why is overbetting a bad thing again

[/ QUOTE ]

Because we would'nt do that with QT now would we? It makes it easier for him to establish our hand.. Or maybe I am wrong

what are the pros and cons of betting this flop vs check calling? I assume after this turn we arent getting away.

CON - leading flop with maginal hands like TPGK is stupid. it gets you into so many tough turn spots. leading with big draws/sets/air is ok. but doing this with JT is basically turning your hand into a bluff... well, maybe youll get 1 street of value from a worse hand, but no more.

It is accepted that this is a 3bet or fold situation preflop no? It is so uncomfortable just check calling these down. I guess in this hand I am check calling flop and leading turn

Fold or 3bet preflop, calling OOP against a loose raiser with JTs downright sucks...

On the turn its a toss up between c/r and calling, I'm probably calling again and c/f the river if I miss and leading when I hit.

I like a call on flop and call on turn, u still probably have the worse hand here, but a draw to a ton of outs, especially if its a non descript diamond. You can get potentially alot of money in on river. if you miss u still have some showdown value so i say don't bloat pot, however i normally raise turn to like 80$ when [censored] like this arises, but i semi bluff a ton.

Here is how the hand was played out. I decided a check/raise was best, but when I look at it now I see I should have raised more. Agree?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Hero ($259.05)
UTG ($185.20)
UTG+1 ($201)
MP1 ($447.15)
MP2 ($190)
CO ($253.20)
Button ($249.05)
SB ($416.50)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
5 folds, Button raises to $8, 1 fold, Hero calls $6.

Flop: ($17) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $12, Hero calls $12.

Turn: ($41) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $20, Hero raises to $60, Button folds.

Final Pot: $121

I would have to disagree that we are probably behind on this turn. Our hand is ahead or virtually even with a huge part of his range.
