I'd list it under hobbies & interests, but not under work and job history.

this is a case where you would especially not want to list it.
casinos take a lot of heat for developing gambling problems/addiction in the community. particularly in their employees. Though many casino employees seem to have gambling problems in my experience, when hiring i would think they would go out of their way to find candidates that don't appear to have gambling problems, since its a huge liability if they do. if you admit to being a serious gambler, then you already have shot yourself in the foot. being a 'pro' changes nothing, particularly because many many self proclaimed pros are just deadbeat losers. |

I applied for a job in a (sports)book(ies) after doing something similar to yourself, playing poker to keep me afloat while in college, and put that on my application. It was for a decent job too as a line maker, they hired me on the interview day. So my advice is go for it, if its the gambling industry they want people that have knowledge and an interest in it.
I live in the UK tho, im sure with all the anti-gambling [censored] you guys have to deal with it may be different. |

bump:
the racino finally called me back and we set up an interview in two days. The jobs I applied for are the slot attendant, surveillance, and as a last resort working behind the cage with the money. I didn't mention specifically that I was a pro gambler, but they did have a skill set portion on the application which included profiency in texas hold em, omaha, slots etc. I put that I was extremely proficient in hold em, omaha and moderately proficient on slots. What's my play in the interview? I am sure that it is gonna come up while I'm explaining the gaps in my resume. I'm leaning on just telling the whole truth about being a pro gambler, but I can be persuaded otherwise. |

You should have said you are pro slots. |
